- Kara was almost asleep when she heard a buzz and looked over to see her screen light up. The notification said "You're Invited!". Kara opened the text and saw all the event details. This was going to be so fun! She loved celebrating with her friends, and was especially excited to celebrate her best friend. When she got home from school, Kara asked her mom if they could stop at the mall later to buy something to take to the party. She didn't want to show up empty handed! Her mom said they would have to wait until it wasn't a school day. A few days later, they rushed and got to the mall as soon as it opened so that they could beat the crowds. But when Kara got inside, she wasn't even sure which store she wanted to look in first. She ended up buying something she thought would go with a lot of the clothes Jamie liked. Plus, Jamie had only gotten her ears peirced the month before so she would be excited to add to her new collection.
- I wish she would stop being mean to me, but she doesn't seem to want to. I don't know why she is doing this, but it hurts me a lot. I just want to be able to play with my friends without her making me feel sad.

- My family and friends were coming to visit for the holiday that occurs every November in the fall. My mom and dad spent all day cooking and cleaning. The food was going to be finished a little after everyone arrived. Everyone was arriving around dusk to celebrate together. Just as everyone arrived, there was heavy rain and lightning. Suddenly everything went dark in the house. When my mom checked the food in the oven, the food had not finished cooking. We got out all of our candles and flashlights then started playing card games as my mom called many restaurants to see if she could order food. We ended up sharing what we were thankful for as we ate pizza together. It was a holiday I will always remember!
- Once upon a time, I was playing on the playground with my friends. We were all having fun when one of my friends started being mean to me. She would push me, call me names, and steal my toys. I was so sad and didn't know what to do.
- The morning of the party, Kara checked the ivitation again to make sure she would be at the right place at the right time. She didn't want to show up late! Before she left, she pulled on her coat and boots and told her mom she would be home before the street lights turned on. When she got to the party, she found her friends waiting at the ticket booth, shivering. Kara looked out at the ice and was instantly glad she brought her coat! Once they paid, the employee asked "What size do you need?". Kara sat down to put on her rented footwear. She was glad the blades were sharp, because dull blades could make you slip on the ice when you rounded the rink. Kara and her friends had a blast, and they made sure to sing to Jamie before the night was over.
- After a long day of work, Lynn was looking forward to her summer vacation. She was going to spend the next six weeks lounging by the pool, reading books, and sharing lazy afternoons with her friends.
